Civil Engineering Scholarship

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Annually funded scholarships at Lamar will be established upon completion of the guidelines and receipt of funding.

BACKGROUND:

The scholarship is provided to :

(1) promote academic excellence of students in the Department of Civil Engineering;

(2) assist students financially to complete Civil Engineering degree. Donors of the scholarship are alumni, faculty, staff and friends who are interested in supporting students pursuing a degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Lamar University.

RECIPIENT TO BE SELECTED BY:

A department scholarship committee which consists of the department chair and faculty members.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

(1) Major/Degree: Civil Engineering

(2) Overall GPA: Minimum of 3.0 GPA for undergraduate students, and 3.5 GPA for graduate students. It may grant students with lower GPA in consideration of student activities and financial needs.

(3) Class Level: Open to all class levels including graduate students.

(4) Class Load Requirements: full-time student in civil engineering.

(5) Other: The recipient must be in good standing with the University.
